RAHA Livelihoods Skill Training Programme

A skill development training program was initiated by RAHA-UNDP and was implemented by AWARD in Nowshehra District. The main aim of the program was to improve the living conditions of the people living in the refugees affected and hosting areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK). The participants belonged to Union Councils:, Akbar Pura, Aman Kot, Balu, Maira, Akora Khattak, Daag Besud, Dheri Katti Kheil, Kurvi, Misri Banda, Mohib Banda, Pabbi, Pir Sabaq, Taru and Zara Miana. Eleven skill development trainings were successfully delivered and 220 persons were trained. Five training were conducted for females, while the rest were for males. The trainings were 80% based on practical work and 20% focused on the theoretical learning. The main aim was to enable the participants to set up their own businesses or serve as service providers so that they could start their business and provide services to enhance their income.
